PATRICK MCAFEE
STONEMASON

Patrick McAfee is an Irish stonemason with nearly 40 years work experience. He began work as an apprentice to his father at 15 years of age, and his son follows in the same tradition. Mr. McAfee is the author of Irish Stone Walls (1997), which became a number one best seller, and Stone Buildings (1998).

Since the 1980's, he has specialised in conservation, working as a consultant and trainer. He now runs workshops in the use of traditional stone and lime mortar techniques. The workshops are held primarily in Ireland, but Mr. McAfee has recently offered several workshops in the U.S.
