MANUELA PALMA
ARCHITECT - CONSERVATOR

Manuela Palma is a consultant in architectural conservation whose area of expertise is the evaluation and preservation of historic masonry buildings. Ms. Palma graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy. She continued there, working on European research projects involving seismic damage assessment as well as laboratory analysis of mortar, brick and stone. In addition, Ms. Palma has expertise in archaeology, having worked for six years at several excavations ranging from prehistoric sites to a medieval fort.

Ms. Palma has four publications related to diagnosis and rehabilitation techniques for historic buildings damaged by earthquakes. She has consulted and worked on projects throughout the U.S. and Italy. Currently she works for Preservation Technology LLC, a firm specializing in restoration and structural retrofit of historic masonry buildings.
