
PIETRO MANGARELLA
FRESCO CONSERVATOR
Pietro Mangarella was trained in Italy as an Art Conservator and continued his training in Architectural and Archaeological Site Conservation with the University of Pennsylvania. His work experience has included conservation of monuments, churches, palazzo, sculpture, frescoes and archaeological sites. His projects vary from emergency stabilization of frescoes, mosaics and masonry structures in a 1st to 7th century Hellenistic Roman settlement in Sagalassos, Turkey to conservation of the façade and decorated wooden panels of the 18th century Baroque style church in Matera, Italy. He has also worked with the U.S. National Park Service on the conservation of earthen architecture in Mesa Verde National Park and of the historic mausoleums of Saint Louis Cemetery I in New Orleans.
In 2005, Mr. Mangarella founded his own company in Italy, Conservazione Artistica, Architettonica e Archeologica.
