MARK BUSZKIEWICZ
RESTORATION SPECIALIST

Mark Buszkiewicz is a specialist in historic building restoration and furniture design. He grew up in the oldest house in Wisconsin, built c. 1820, and was fascinated at a young age by the oak beams with bark still clinging to them. A move to New England and later to Charleston, South Carolina focused his interest on architecture and furnishings of this historic city and surrounding plantations. Several apprenticeships and time spent working in Williamsburg, Sturbridge, in Amish country and the Carolinas with anyone who had knowledge and skill to impart, prepared him for a career in furniture building and restoration.

Mark moved to New Orleans where he established a cabinet shop, producing his own furniture designs between building restoration projects. He relocated to the Gulf Coast and devoted most of his time to refining a personal style in his furniture design. For over twenty years he produced a great deal of furniture and prolonged the lives of a great many fine old structures. He has recently begun to design and build homes that fit well in the local context.
